Dry skin explained

Dry skin can be inherited with genes, but not only. Most frequently dry skin is a result of inadequate or insufficient care, as well as a consequence of excessive exposure to harmful external factors, which disrupt the natural protective barrier of the skin. Most of the time dry skin is dull and rough, it lacks radiance due to producing very little sebum. It’s usually thin, prone to damage and sensitive. Apart from being a source of discomfort, dry skin promotes the absorption of irritants or allergies and is prone to eczema and psoriasis.

How to treat dry skin?

First things first. To improve the condition of dry skin, forget using soap and water only - it will lead to unwanted redness and irritation. Use a gentle cleanser instead. We especially recommend our Radiance Melting Cleanser which was formulated keeping dry skin in mind. The blend of carefully selected, high-performance natural ingredients such as oryzanol, rice bran oil, sunflower oil and vitamin E, thoroughly and gently removes makeup, dirt and any impurities, leaving the skin nourished, ready for the next steps of your skincare routine.

If your skin is extra dry, you might consider using a hydrating toner. Adding this step to your skincare routine can make a real difference in the moisture levels of the skin. Hydrating Face Tonic by Kutemwa Skin preps and adds hydration to the skin to improve the penetration of your serums. The combination of aloe vera and rose water is extremely beneficial to the skin, leaving it hydrated and refreshed.

Don’t skip a serum. This type of product is crucial for dry skin as it’s highly concentrated and able to penetrate the skin deeper than a moisturiser. In the morning you want to use something lightweight but still power-packed to boost the radiance and nourish the skin.

The Radiance Ace Serum formulated by Kutemwa Skin combines vitamins A, C and E - ingredients extremely beneficial for dry skin. Rich in antioxidants, the serum helps to maintain the skin youthful and glowing whilst reducing irritation.

PM routine calls for an oil-based serum. Why? To deeply nourish and protect skin moisture. Senegalese Baobab Nourishing Oil Serum consists of cold pressed, organic baobab oil featuring hydrating properties. It’s a real staple in treating dry, ashy skin.

Moisturiser is key. When it comes to dry skin remedies, moisturiser is considered the most effective in combating the problem. Kutemwa Skin Radiance Moisturiser strengthens skin barrier function to inhibit moisture loss. The lightweight but rich formula deeply hydrates and soothes the skin to restore its natural glow.

Bonus Tip: Always remember your sunscreen.
